How Do I Move My Virgin Broadband From My Old Computer to My New One?

by DTV Star on April 29, 2011

I've been given a Windows XP computer by a friend. My current PC is Windows 2000 and I am using Virgin Broadband with a speedtouch modem. I would like to keep my broadband package - how do I move just my broadband to the new PC without copying my entire profile across?

check you access mode ..ie. you are using windows dialer or pppoe of modem ..???..
or you can simply try this :
run command ipconfig /all note down ip address, default gateway, subnet mask and dns’s. put these values in your new comp. ping your modems ip from the new comp. by command ping ip_address_of_modem see the reply.
you should be able to browse the net.(IP address should not be same for any connected device )
you can use both the comp simultaneously too..use a switch if you dont have free ethernet ports with your modem/router.
