would a router like this slow down an adsl2+ connection over a distance like 10-15 metres

Linksys are terrible. Read the online reviews. Belkin is working great….

etpark5 May 12, 2010 at 3:10 am

linksys is the way to go because belkin has random disconnections. also linksys is made by cisco…the people who are genius with networking and internet

mysummertime09 May 12, 2010 at 3:32 am

mine works just fine for mw2 and halo or any other game

playstationkid13 May 12, 2010 at 4:25 am

@richiewhe same here.

HulkingBravo May 12, 2010 at 4:53 am

Agreed, especially since it is on the approved list for routers on the xbox support site…

There are two types of internet. Some are a service that requires you to run a phone line into a router/modem hybrid. Other services supply you with a modem and you plug it into the router.
You should contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to find out which to get.

I have to laugh when people post a negative review of a piece of hardware because they cant setup and configure it properly. I don’t own this router but I am watching video reviews to help me make a decision. It was likely some simple setting you missed. In fact, I’m willing to bet most people wouldn’t have issues setting it. Typically the harder it is to setup then the better the features. I used to own a D LINK gamers lounge router and that was the case.

@richiewhe you are wrong it works perfect with 3 laptops and a ps3 you just doing smthing wrong

richiewhe May 12, 2010 at 6:54 am

dont buy this router for three days i tried to get it working.could not get it working for mw2 online or to work on the xbox 360 at all.brought back to pc world got a netgear in instead had my laptop playstation 3 and xbox workin in an hour. if u want hassle free set up netgear n is the job.you are warned ,and im computer savy and was on to belkin for two hours.opened all ports firewall etc

h4mza May 12, 2010 at 7:33 am

you need to connect a device to your router, like a laptop or a mobile and then it should light up

ownagemum May 12, 2010 at 7:50 am

if i want a wireless router, do i just buy it on its own and connect to phone line? or must i also have a modem that connects to phone line and THEN to the wireless router? my internet is adsl2+

davomrmac May 12, 2010 at 8:14 am

It is not really down to the router. More the speed, quality of your connection and distance to the exchange.

HOsPoduction May 12, 2010 at 8:57 am

@davomrmac i have a question. does this router give u better gaming experience. cuz i have the belkin g plus and i lag. does this router help u not lag? or do we need a modem to help not lag?

tai410 May 12, 2010 at 9:52 am
