@GLJovani Your a fuckwit

tortugabob November 24, 2010 at 12:56 am

GLJovani I guess you’re in here just trying to piss someone off. But old folks who grew up listening to the music of Joan and others like her don’t give a crap what you think. Go listen to Madonna and Lady Gaga or whoever you think doesn’t sound “tired” as you call it. Meanwhile we’ll stick with Joan Baez and Joni. Mitchell.

Joanie’s voice isn’t shot! She’s been singing for 50 years…I think she still sings as well as she did back when I was listening to her when I was 13

GLJovani November 24, 2010 at 2:10 am

sorry for the typos! Sorry Joan’s voice is kinda shot, but Joni Mitchell’s is really bad. Joan as held up well with a few nips and tucks and an understated look. She seems tired and like she’s going through the motions. Can’t believe she’s not filthy rich and still needs to make money.

GLJovani November 24, 2010 at 2:51 am

Ummm, Joanie’s voice has now become so that she can onky t’alk’ her songs. I used to really love her but there comes a point of retirement for us all. That New-Agey background added nothing to the performance. Maybe she still needs the moeny.

Olá Joan
É um prazer imenso comentar sobre você.
Cresci ouvindo você cantar e até hoje quando ouço, me lembro daqueles tempos em que eu tinha 13 anos e você me inspirava muito.
Hoje tenho 45, mas você sempre será minha ídola…

I’ve been listening to Joan Baez since I was 13 years old and I am now 52. She still means the world to me. Don’t stop singing! You are the genuine article.

NEVER PUT jerry Garcia with joan b and bob d. joan b, bob d (and tom waits) are part of a revolution that happened in the 17th century in france (read it in bobs book ill paraphrase it: “I read john locke i read thomas jefferson i read thomas paine it was almost as if they were living in my back yard.”) they represent intellegence and logic and liberal ideas jerry garcia is just a fucking postmodern pot head.

bobdennis53 November 24, 2010 at 8:45 am

oh really????????? after all her years for Human Rights, and anti war stances, do you just follow the Popular does BETTER than when you were born? Who do you “believe”,? you have a nice youtube adress…”poetry?” I hardly think so. Check your music history in the ’60s

CrystaltheAmazon November 24, 2010 at 9:03 am

Joan, you are a precious jewel and an example of the true reflection of God that we’re all meant to be. I’m in my late 30′s and just got in on the tail end of the spiritual revolution of the 60′s/70′s – made it to 17 Grateful Dead shows before Jerry checked out. I only hope that the enlightenment of that era will find its way into my children’s generation, and that one day love will replace greed as the driving force on this planet. We need a new generation of Joan B’s, Bob D’s & Jerry G’s.

CrystaltheAmazon November 24, 2010 at 9:42 am

Thank you so much for singing this heartbreaking song, Joan, and thanks to Tom Waits for writing it. Joan, your voice and your soul are richer and deeper and more beautiful than ever. We are so blessed that you have used the tremendous gift God gave you to reach out and touch the hearts and souls of so many. Thank you so very much for not burying your talent (like the parable in the Bible,) but instead using it to further peace, love and unity on this planet.

Todavia hay grandes nombres en la música. Sometimes it makes me sad when i heard that bands like the J Bros are called great musicians and it’s no true, it’s just bubble gum music. Ladys and Gentleman Joan Baez it’s Music. Nice to see you again darling and i hope that your star never turn off (sorry my english) greetings and the best wishes from Venezuela.
